I have always enjoyed making the trip down to Dodgeville once a year to listen to musicians of all ages that come together for the annual, Ringing In The New Year Concert.  It's a labor of love to be sure for Dan Roble, organizer of the event.  The bell choir started things off by bringing back a little bit of Christmas.  If you've never heard a great bell choir, you've really missed something special.  There were performances by the First United Methodist Church choir and some young piano students who had a lot of poise and energy.  There was a vocal group from the Green Bay area, a soprano soloist, and I played and sang a medley of Christmas carols with my harp.

It was the one Sunday in between the football playoffs and the Superbowl this year.  Great timing because you would be hard pressed to get Wisconsinites to a Sunday afternoon concert if the Packers are playing.  We all had something to celebrate after the Superbowl this year!  Way to go Packers!

The concert was great, and so was the homemade lasagna dinner that followed.   It's a pleasure to be a part of an event that is graced by a genuine sense of community.
